I had access to press passes to the NCAA wrestling tournament he went to a few years ago. The security directions were insane. One of my friends is a photographer and he was straight up told if he didn't leave his gear overnight, he wouldn't get through security the next day. I worked an event where Michelle and Biden were talking, and Obama’s daughters and I think Joe’s grandkids were also low key in the crowd with secret service around. It was a fun concert with a ton of celebrities and musicians. The president himself decided to watch the concert/ event on TV apparently from one of the buildings that over looked the park. Who knows if he actually watched, but he did say no to going to a lot of “fun” events like that because his security requirements are so disruptive. There are a few interviews where him and Michelle talk about it. They thought it was just kind of rude to complicate a fun event for everyone else and steal the spot light. I’m pretty sure most presidents have given the same courtesy.
