Last month, I posted a strawberry shortcake I made to celebrate my one month anniversary (heroin addiction recovery)

Today marks the 2th month, so I made myself two healthy treats because I really enjoy and try taking care of my body

They don’t look really nice and definitely aren’t regular baking goods but it was fun making them !

Description :

- No bake pie with a crust made of oat flour, almond flour and sugar free applesauce, and greek yogurt and berries for topping (+lemon zest)

- No bake chocolate bites with oat flour, almond butter, cocoa powder and sugar free apple sauce + melted dark chocolate on top

Thanks again for all the support I got for my first post !!

Pretty proud of this cheesecake considering it was a last minute pick me up for a friend! Though I did over bake it slightly I believe.

Cheesecakes fix everything including broken hearts right?

I’ve been wanting to do this since seeing it all over Instagram lately. 17 types, savoury on one side, sweet on the other. About 2 weeks of planning and baking. My husband did coffees and helped me write out names of items and entertain the baby. My SIL helped to make matcha.

It was so much fun! Planning another one, but Asian themed. Would love some ideas!

It's a triple chocolate mousse cake infused with a coffee liqueur syrup. Yes the D's in "did" are turned the wrong way but it was 3am by the time I did the lettering and I just didn't have it in me to do it again lol

Sponge Bob is her favorite childhood cartoon and it got her through some really difficult times in college!

Showcase (No-Recipe) First Heart Cake

Best friend’s hubby messaged that the person he was getting her bday cake from cancelled on him. Gave him crap for not just asking me to begin with lol.

Decided I was going to make her cake heart shaped then pipe on cherries, and add bows to incorporate everything he said. I was kinda nervous to do it bc it is my first time doing this style!

And while I make my cakes from scratch, no, I do not make the sprinkles 🤣 (I watched an episode of GBBO and they made them make sprinkles from scratch)

Edit: UPDATE: thank you all for support, kind comments, and awards! She loved the cake!

It tastes awful. Dont do it guys.

Was craving for a tiramisu one day. Realized I did not have any mascarpone, heavy cream or milk at home. Only yogurt. What could go wrong? Plenty apparently

Around a week ago I posted some pictures in here asking for help to choose which cake designs to use in my inspiration to make a tier cake for an upcoming cake decorating contest. That post was removed because it was flagged as AI lol (none of it was)

Anyway, here’s an update that I won! The flavour was chocolate fudge and the other was vanilla sponge w chocolate fudge and butterscotch. The judges were my local custom cake pioneers who Ive admired since I got into this game about 5 ish years ago so their compliments were super big for me! 🥰💛

I'm kind of a multi-role, I am the School Library Media Specialist, Tech person (I fix a LOT of broken Chromebook screens), and teach 2 art classes. The musical director has Study Hall duty in the Media Center with me every day and when I found out what they were doing, I was like "uhhh can I make you guys a cake I have an idea" lol.

It's big - the base is a 12 inch cake. I had to make a custom 16" cake drum (school art supplies shh don't tell anyone) because I wasn't about to spend $30 on a cake drum for a donation cake haha.

Head is made out of a hemisphere cake and covered in 50/50 modeling chocolate/fondant mix. I made a 3D printed mold for the base of the face and then sculpted out the details.

I only had about 5 mental breakdowns making this! (Tip, do not put ganache down first before adding a second tier. It SLIDES)

EDIT:

Thank you all for suggestions about my photos! I used to do really nice photos with 3 point lighting and my good Cannon, but the photos were seeming a bit too lush and I think people had a hard time relating to them. I was also accused of them being AI, so I deliberately switched to a more rustic and intentionally basic and shitty way of doing my photos. It has accomplished what I hoped it would accomplish - my cake orders are more approachable. I also work a full time job with a 3 hour round trip commute along with trying to run this business that has become so much bigger than I thought it would, and so I’m usually rushing to grab some quick photos before I have to deliver or have someone pickup the cake.

Showcase (No-Recipe) ✨ I made Sun & Moon cake for Ramadan 🌙🌞

Thumbnail

Hello bakers!

I recently made sun & moon cake for Ramadan theme.

In the first photo, it’s made with vanilla bean chiffon with crème brûlée custard, and strawberry mousse.

The 3rd photo is also with vanilla bean chiffon, strawberry mousse and with an added layer of pistachio kadayif (real pistachio not with premade paste)

I used chocolate whipped ganache for all my cakes, i am not a buttercream gorl 😭✨

for the color I use Colour Mill oil base colors. They’re expensive but I definitely recommend it. The packaging isn’t the best, but the color is really good and pigmented.

I am slowly getting better with my piping ✨ Decorating still takes a long time for me but its the most fun part haha

❓: If you guys have any recommendation for cream cakes, let me know! I am hosting a girls cake workshop soon with my friends, one of them is vegetarian. My ganache usually contains gelatin for cream stability, so I am wondering what cream could work well for decorating cute vintage cakes?

Showcase (No-Recipe) TRUST THE PROCESS! (My daughter saw the cake at slide 3 and did NOT think it was gonna work)

I made this sea turtle cake for a friend's son just for fun. When they said he was having a party coming up I basically forced them to let me make him a cake because I knew it would be something I've never done before. Probably would have been more stressed if I was doing it for money haha but I could just have fun making it.

My daughter watched me do some of it, and she DEFINITELY didn't think it was going to look like a turtle. I kept saying "trust the process!" which I say to my art students a lot.

Chocolate cake (based off of the 'How to Cake It' recipe), chocolate buttercream (Sally's). Head and flippers were chocolate rice krispie treat and modeling chocolate, and then the shell was fondant. Shell didn't cover the belly enough and I didn't want to add more fondant to expose the naked cake, so I figured sand - but didn't have any graham crackers. I almost DoorDashed a box lol but then found an unopened box of waffle cone bowls in the back of the closet that was still good, so blitzed them up and used those.

Showcase (No-Recipe) Some of my 18yr olds creations studying in France.

Thumbnail

Currently studying in France. Something she has dreamed of since she was 10. Wants to eventually open a small shop and also do catering focusing on French pastries.

She paid for school, her apartment, and everything else on her own. Was her goal to do this and come back when it’s all done with no debt. To say I’m proud of her is an understatement.

:update:

Wow so many replies and rewards. I’d love to respond to you all but that will be tough.

First thank you all so much. Second I’ll have to get names of each and try to update the captions. Lastly I’m gonna hold off on sharing location and school until she returns. Just cause the Internet is a bit weird and sketchy. Makes this dad nervous.

Oh and lastly, no scholarships for this. Three years of working in a bakery saving every penny, and HS graduation cash helped make this a reality. Dad and mom pay the day to day (groceries, food, etc) while in France, plus car payment, insurance, gas, etc here at home. This is a 2.5 month program and she is in France for 3 months. School was just under $20k, her apartment is right at $900 a month. This is not in Paris, but a smaller French city.

Thank you to everyone here who helped me! I'm just a mom who can bake a cake but construction and decoration are not in my skill set. Thankfully a messy cake was what he WANTED! He wanted it to look like he had colored the icing on. He requested messy white scribbles and imperfect red icing.

I showed him my final product this evening and got the tightest hug ever so I think I pulled it off! Party is tomorrow afternoon so now I just have to drive it there! (I did take the candles back out after the photo)

I've been seeing layer cakes that have a whole cheesecake layered in there, and I finally made one! Really happy with it, and excited to try different flavor combos. This one has vanilla cake, vanilla cheesecake, mixed berry (raspberry-blackberry-blueberry) compote, and a German buttercream. I think some citrus curd would be so good to include as well.
